This year, from May 25th to the 28th,
the 23rd Filmfestival took place in the glorious town of Telluride, Colorado.
More than a Festival, this is an exceptional chance
to meet people and experience events about the mountains. The Festival believes in the
power of art and cinema to promote social change.
During the Festival, participants and guest will have the
opportunity to meet and discuss with people who could not otherwise get to know outside
this event, so still miraculously informal and spontaneous. The political approach to the
issues of mountains and their inhabitants, and human rights violations, are discussed
through feature films and documentaries, such as those concerning Tibet and topics
concerning ecology and environment.
Despite broadening its themes year after year - this
edition's Moving Mountains Symposium, for example, was dedicated to the Artic and Antartic
regions - the Festival's main focus continues to be the promotion of debates on these
issues and of this type of cinema, perceived as a form of art.
