How to bring together television and skiing? Not only with competitions and champions, but also those who have made news in skiing. Piero Tassone, ex-wood sculptor and ski instructor, during the fifties became a candidate on the Italian game show Lascia o raddoppia.
His life changed and he became famous when he appeared in front of an audience of 14 million people. He moved to Cervinia, where he met important people and became an actor in Italian photo-comics.
At the Sant̀Orso fair in Aosta, Piero was overcome with memories of a promise made when, after the 8th of September, he was sent to a work camp in Germany.
Sandro Gastinelli was born in Cuneo in 1968. He has worked free-lance for local television. In 1991, he produced the documentary Alternativa Montagna. His interests lead him to projects with the local area as a subject: popular entertainment (Cantapiemonte, 1994), agricultural and nutrition education in schools (Le strade degli alimenti) and haymaking in the Western Alps, a winner of several prizes at various festivals. He now lives in Boves (Cuneo).
