Knapsack, fear and emotions are the roped party fellows of Pietro Dal Pra. Following him on the Bec dĖAja, on the Dolomiti Ampezzane and then as a solo climber to the Pilastro of the Tafana of Roses.
This new and amusing film presents a way of doing mountaineering that is more than just effort, technique or mystical search.
Dal Pra talks to himself and combines the climbĖs sweat with the pleasure he feels in facing his mountains.
Fulvio Mariani was born in 1958 at La Chaux de Fonds. He is a documentary filmmaker who has produced several films about climbing, exploration and adventure. He has worked with important world mountaineers such as Reinhold Messner and Jerzy Kukuczka. Director Werner Herzog called on him for Grido di pietra, shot on Cerro Torre, a mountain that Mariani knows very well, having climbed it several times together with Marco Pedrini and made the documentary Cumbre, which has received many awards.
