Choegatar is thirty years old, a shepherd and a
descendent of nomads who have always populated Central Asia. According to the ancient
tradition of transhumance, Choegatar puts his cattle out for pasturing therefore
leading an existence without a fixed abode. But times are changing the existence of
humankind, even on the Asian steppe: people begin to move their livestock in trucks
causing the community to settle. The number of urban inhabitants increases. The arrival of
a western lifestyle has brought comfort, although at the expense of a great part of their
freedom which a nomad carries within.
