Papua New Guinea: one of the last explored frontiers.
Here, the recent arrival of the West and the impenetrable terrain, characterised by
densely vegetated, high mountains, has allowed the tribes to conserve their tribal
traditions and lead a relatively peaceful existence. The director accompanied by a few
porters and an interpreter, traverse Papua from the north to the south, crossing paths
with members of the local tribes, like Kowroway who lives in the trees at a height of
forty metres with his four wives and three children, or the Protestant priest who has
maintained the traditional male attire, the penis sheath, but uses a bible translated into
the local dialect. Considering all, without forgetting that the last account of
cannibalism only dates back a few years.
