In the Valle Stura, on the western Alps, the smell of
freshly baked bread is again wafting through all the villages close to the French border.
Thanks to a project coordinated by the Comunità Montana Valle Stura, a dozen ovens and
two mills were restored to their previous condition. The film illustrates the aim of the
project following the work of a few dedicated locals, who have never stopped made bread
according to the ancient formula. The project revives the local art of bread making which
has been handed down from generation to generation.
