In
September 1944, Finland is about to abandon its treaty with Germany
and back out of the war against the Sovietic Union. Willi, a Finnish
soldier, and Ivan, a sovietic official, are sentenced to death by their
respective Armies. They both take shelter in a Lapp farm, hosted by
a Saami woman, Anni. They speak different languages but they manage
to understand each other thorugh body language. The woman does not consider
the two men as enemies, but simply as two men
DIRECTOR
Alexander Rogozhkin was born in Leningrad in 1949. He studied history
at the University of Leningrad. After collaborating with Lenfilm (Leningrad
cinema production studios), he decided to study cinematography at the
VGIK in Moscow. Among his films we quote Checkpoint and Cockoo,
awarded at many Film Festival (Moscow and Berlin).
