We
travel to Patagonia with four Swiss mountaineers. Thomas Ulrich, one
of the four and worldwide known adventure and outdoor photographer,
tells us the story of this journey. It is winter and the four accomplished
mountaineers want to climb one of the most famous routes: the Maestri
- Egger on Cerro Torre. In 1959, Cesare Maestri and Toni Egger
did the first ascent on this beautiful ice and granite needle via the
East and North faces. Egger died on the descent in an avalanche. Although
many climbers tried to climb it, the route has not been repeated since
then. This movie is a homage to friendship, happiness, nature and to
the performances of mountaineers such as Casimiro Ferrari, Cesare Maestri
and Cesarino Fava.
