The Essence of Adolescence is an extreme sports film featuring teenage boys from the Sunshine Coast in British Columbia, Canada. The movie celebrates the exuberance of youth expressed through snowboarding, skiing, skateboarding, BMX riding, hilarious wipeouts and teenagers just being carefree kids. The film’s action is accompanied by rap, punk and reggae music adding to the overall mood and enriching the viewer’s glimpse into global youth culture. From the extreme performance, to the directing and editing, this film is entirely made by teens.

DIRECTOR
Daniel Kingsbury is a 16 year-old student of the Chatelech Secondary School, Canada. Daniel has been making films since he was 12 using the family’s digital camera. He taught himself how to use the camera and various editing programs.
