By all accounts, it was a munumental task: a pilot/cameraman in
a single engine aircraft to film aerials across South America.
A year later, legendary aerial photographer Robert Fulton has
flown over just about every peak, river, glacier, volcano and
jungle of the Andes. At times suggestive of the writings of Saint-Exupéry's
aviator days in Patagonia, this is a film that goes to the heart
and muscle of flight and photography. Each drop of fuel, each
inch of celluloid, and every knot of wind becoming part of the
calculus…and the Andes under our feet…

Born in Prague and trained in classical art, Vladimir Van Maule
brings a unique storytelling style to every production. Since
1976 he has shot and directed films around the world. His credits
list TV spots, two feature films (Bloodbeat and Namaste) and documentaries,
realised fot Czech TV, BBC and National Geographic. His Pilot
Notes documentary has taken the top honors at Telluride Mountain
Film Festival, the Grand Prix at the Vancouver Film Festival and
the Best documentary award at Bratislava Mountain and People Film
Festival.
