Himalaya has its own heroes, called "heroes of uselessness" putting their flags on the top after climbing without breaks. But at the bottom of the mountain, some anti-heroes work hard as mules transfering every day tons of provisions and materials to permit to these heroes the success of their expeditions.. The main destination of these men is Namche Bazaar, the last village in front of Everest, reachable after three long and hard weeks of travel…while the mountain climbers easily get it by helicopter…

DIRECTOR
Philippe Lespinasse has made, between 1998 and 2002, about ten TV documentaries on social and environmental issues. Among them Les chasseurs sont de drôle d'oiseaux, about hunters, broadcasted by ARTE and Un paquebot dans le jardin, telling the story of a miner from Lorraine, broadcasted by FRANCE 3. Important are also some social reportages about Russia, villages of Red Khmer and Cambodia.
