First
of a series of five episodes titled Rescue in Mountain. With an
example that could not be more complete, a live avalanche, this
episode takes us directly to the heart of the problem: what brings
a mountain guide to risk his own life to save the one of someone
else he doesn't know at all? Which are the risks, conscious or
not? Are the guides victims of some amateurs "crazy heads"? Even
though they are conscious of the risks of their own profession,
in this video they confess us their doubts: which is the prize
they are ready to pay?
DIRECTOR
Swiss director Pierre-Antoine Hiroz has made, from 1997
until today; about twenty among video and films, almost all of
them shot on mountains and glaciers. They report expeditions,
or portraits of famous climbers like for example Catherine Destivelle,
Jean-Louis Etienne, Erhard Lorétan, Eric Descamps. Premier
de Cordée e La Grande Crevasse (1998) are the most
well known TV series featuring, among the others, Italian actor
Giuliano Gemma. They were showed in Cervinia in 2000 edition.
