For 167 days, with trainers in autumn and touring skies in winter,
day after day, Patrick Bérhault covered twice or three times as
much ground as the average rambler. He called it his "Alpine voyage",
but this rather bucolic title masks a remarkable achievement in
human and sporting terms. Starting from Slovenia, he reached the
beach of Sablets at Menton: 25,000 km. on foot or by mountain
bike, 141,683 vertical metres, 22,280 metres of rock face and
22 famous peaks.
DIRECTOR
Gilles Chappaz, 48 years old, born in Chamonix, is journalist,
ski master and director. He has directed numerous mountain documentaries
and he is chief editor of specialized magazines. He collaborates
with the TV magazine of FR3 "Montagne Magazine", for which has
made several reportage about the profession of mountain guide
and about skiing.
