ZERO TO THREE MINUTES
Snowfood, produced by Turin Sports International Film Festival
in cooperation with Stream TV, is a series of 30 episodes talking
about mountain and sport: events, realities, landscapes, people,
history, objects, materials.The original idea was to play with
essential, simple and pure elements: an image, a voice and their
lenght in the brevity.
There are few camera movements, as well as camera effects, noone
of the carachters commenting upon the photo appears on screen
but Dmitri Nabokov, reflected in the big portrait of his father
Vladimir (every hard rule has its own exception) The play of "telling
something else" is internal to the relationship between photo,
video and the person who is speaking. Pratically the photo is
invaded, probed, outflanked and cut up by the camera, a speaking
voice over (the voice of someone, a body filmed and then put in
the shadow: all the commnts have been also filmed not only audio-recorded)
and at the end the discovery of the name of the person who was
commenting the photo.
This
is a play which has its own reverse: the photo reveals the person
and the person reveals the photo. Sports champions and mayors,
mountain climbers and instructors, contractos and photographers,
TV stars and pastors, directors and actors, musicians and critics,
dee jays, journalists and prelates: all protagonists of the Italian
life
At
the end, in their different visions, all these comments compose
a very complex mosaic of History and stories, remembers and comments
at the edge of medialogic reflection, reality and mythes, minimalism
and humour, sports adventures and work, tragic events and chronicles
of our habits. The series has been curated by Gainni Volpi and
Gian Paolo Ormezzano and realized by directors Vittoria Castagneto,
Enrico Verra and Marco Pozzi and by director of production Lia
Furxhi, all youngs and already involved in some of the most beautiful
cinema and TV Italian productions.
