It is wintertime. In a completely white scenery a chicken sits and dozes. Suddenly there is a shadow followed by a light flashing on the chicken body. A small grain falles from haeven. The chicken looks up excitedly, then eats the grain. When more comes down, the chicken gets up and fervently pecking follows the long trail of seeds, without knowing where it is going… This is the graduation film of Thomas Stellmach, realised totally in digital. It had a very big support, both public and private, during the shooting and postproduction stages.

DIRECTOR
Thomas Stellmach, German, studied visual communication at University of Kassel. Since 1982 he has produced sixteen animated films presented at many festival and winners of several prizes. In 1997 got an Oscar for the puppet animation film Quest, in category short animation film. He teaches, moreover, at the Film Academy Ludwigsburg and at the University of Kassel.
