MYSTERIOUS MAMBERAMO
Pavol Barabas, Slovakia, 2000, 67, col, videoThanks to its inaccessibility, both natural and political, Irian Jaya is
one of the few places on earth where civilized man can come in contact with the primitive
world. Until now no expedition had managed the march from the centre of the country to the
River Mamberamo, which has hidden its secrets from the white world.
But the dream of all explorers and adventure-seekers became
true when two friends managed to reach the forbidden inland territory of New Guinea.
They struggled with the snares of the jungle, overcoming
many personal difficulties, but in the end they succeeded in finding the real treasures in
life
