LA
MONTAGNA INVENTATA
MAKING UP THE MOUNTAIN
E. Camanni/V. Pasquali, Italy, 2000, 66, col, videoA journalist, unfamiliar with the mountains, is asked to write an
article on the history of two hundred years of mountaineering.
Perplexed, she takes on the job and gradually becomes
involved in the subject.
Alone in an austere country house, she is conquered by the
apparently irrational adventures of an entirely male world.
From the beginning, she is aware of the contrast between
the ethics of idealism and the pragmatism of the technique.
Numerous human portraits emerge which highlight the
cyclicity of these two views united by a great passion for the mountains. |
